I have been in school governance since 2004. I am married to Liz, we have lived on the village for over 30 years and I run my own business. Our four children all attended Bar Hill School, before going on to Swavesey Village College and then higher education. I am appointed chair by the Trust and hold the champion role for Finance.
I hold the champion role for Personnel. I work for the Diocese of Ely MAT as Assistant Director – Innovation and Business Development and I am currently studying for my NPQH. I am mum to two young children (Katharine and Conor) and any spare time I have is spent with my family.
We moved to Bar Hill from Cambridge at the beginning of 2015. An important part of deciding to settle down in the village was the praise we had received about the school from other parents. With an elder daughter in year 2 and a younger still a baby, we’ll be involved with Bar Hill Primary School for quite a few years and I would love to bring my contribution in maintaining the good quality education the school provides. Originally from Bulgaria, I have been living in the UK since 2003. I work for a local company as a Purchasing Manager and deal with electronic components. My spare time is dedicated to my family, especially the girls. We like going for long walks, cycling and running.
My husband Peter and I moved to Bar Hill in September 2012, just after our daughter Abigail started school here and a couple of weeks before our son Alexander was born. We have been gradually integrating into the community ever since – we now attend Bar Hill church, are involved with various football activities within the village and as of May 2015, I have joined the governance team of the school. I have worked for the finance team at Cambridgeshire County Council for the last 10 years; my current role is the corporate capital accountant.
I have lived in Bar Hill for over 20 years. I am married to Paul and have 2 children. Our eldest is at Swavesey and our boy is in Year 3 at Bar Hill. I moved to Bar Hill having worked in London and Switzerland. I have worked for the University of Cambridge as a Front of House Manager in the Conference and Catering Dept of Robinson College, since 1994. In my spare time, I enjoy wine tasting and riding my cyclocross bike.
I moved from London to live in Bar Hill in 1972. My three children all attended Bar Hill Primary School and then went on to Swavesey VC. I was a member of the Toddler Group, Playgroup, and PTA throughout the years. I worked for the County Council for many years and the last few before my retirement in 2010 was at a Pupil Referral Unit in Cambridge. I am a South Cambs District Councillor and Parish Councillor. I am also a member of the Resident’s Association.
I have been in school governance at Bar Hill since late in 2001. I am married to Adrienne and we have two children; Christopher and Chessie who both attended Bar Hill a few years ago. Having been born and brought up in Lowestoft, Suffolk, I qualified as a nursery nurse in 1962 and arrived in Cambridge three years later. Here I met my husband Roger, and we moved to Bar Hill in 1969. Both our children attended Bar Hill school and Swavesey Village college. For over 30 years, I was a supervisor for the Bar Hill toddler group, 25 of which I also worked at the Rosie Maternity Hospital. During this time I have served on the PTA, been a Parish Councillor and I am a member of the Residents Association. For the last eleven years, I have been a Guider, helping to run the 2nd Bar Hill Brownies. I am proud to be part of Bar Hill School, assisting in reception one morning a week.
My family and I moved to the UK from Hungary in 2015 and settled in Bar Hill. Both my wife and I work for the University of Cambridge and chose to live in the village as we prefer the countryside to living in the city. Our daughters now attend Swavesey Village College. Since completing my PhD in human genetics, I have been working as a geneticist and bioinformatician in human and dog genetics, and structural biology for more than 15 years. Having participated in scientific public life before, I was very happy to join the governance team in 2016 and become an active part of the local community. I oversee the curriculum and I am link governor for science and computing.
Originally from Germany, I have lived in England for over 20 years and the last 7 in Bar Hill. Having been involved with Bar Hill Preschool as the Chair of the Committee I wanted to continue my involvement with my children’s education. My daughter is currently in year 4 and my son is about to transition to Gretton, a specialist school for autistic children. I work for a company providing continuing education for vets across Europe and North America, which allows me to combine my passion for traveling with work.
