Goodnight Mister Tom Willie Beech is an evacuee from Deptford in
London. He is evacuated to a sleepy little village, Little Weiwold, to live with
Tom Oakley, a widower who's wife, Rachel, died more than forty year ago. Willie
has a great time and makes loads of new friends including Zach who is a Jew, the
twins Carrie and Ginnie and George. Then he gets a letter from his mother
telling him to come back to London. When he gets back to London, his mother is
shocked by the way he has relaxed since he left her. When he gives her his
presents, she thinks that he had stolen them so she beats him. But when he tells
her about Zach she is extremely cross with him. Tom comes looking for him. He
finds him in a terrible state. He takes him to the near by hospital. Tom takes
him back and adopts him. Then Zach goes back to London. He then gets bombed and
dies. Willie is really sad. He gets over it and they lived happily ever after. I
think it is a very sad story. A real emotion grabber. Harry is in his third year at Hogwarts School of
Witchcraft and Wizardry. But before he can go to Hogwarts for his third year, he
has to spend the summer holidays with his Uncle Vernon and Aunt Petunia. To make
things worse, his Great Aunt Marge has come to stay. She says horrible things
about Harry's parents and unbeknown to him. |
