This academic year we welcome Kate Loombe and Kate Davies to the our team. We continue to run four classes in the Infants, two Year 1 and two Year 2. This year Lucy Todman takes over as Area Leader.
After the sad news that most of our eggs are unlikely to hatch, Farmer Ben has brought 6 friends for Jeffrey so he is not lonely anymore! They have settled in very well. You can view them at http://www.barhillprimaryducklings.co.uk/
Hopefully you all received the Shepreth Letter about our trip on the 18th March. If you didn’t, please ask your child’s class teacher for a spare. Also, if you fancy helping out please let us know!
Welcome back for what should be another exciting term, crammed full to the brim with lots to do! Our topic for this term is “Rainforests”, so watch out for the Sky Room slowly being transformed into our own rainforest. We shall be looking specifically at ‘Humans’ and then ‘Animals in their habitats’ in Science, and in Geography we shall be looking at Rainforests around the world. We shall start off the topic with a Big Bang this week, where the children will go on a rainforest adventure and have to complete a number of challenges. In RE we will be looking at Special Texts in Christianity and Judaism, starting with looking at Noah’s Ark in English.
For some classes, the weekly timetables have changed as we have had to change PE times. Please note the new times for your class so you can ensure your child has the correct PE kit in school. We will still be using the outside PE areas for some lessons, so it is very important the children have warm clothes in school.
We will be planning an Infants Trip to Shepreth Wildlife Park for the second half of the Spring Term. Look out for information in a few weeks!
Please stay in touch if you have any worries or concerns about your child. We are always happy to arrange meetings and put actions in place if needed. There will be a more formal chance for a chat at the second of the Parent Consultations later on this term.
