Children In Need
Many thanks to all those who supported Children In Need today. The children have had a lovely day supporting a very worthy cause. The amount raised will be in the next newsletter.
Operation Christmas Child Send A Shoebox!
Just a reminder that shoeboxes need to be back to the office this Monday, 19th November. Last year we sent 62 boxes from our families! If you need any spare leaflets, let us know. Just a reminder not to wrap the presents that are going into the box as each box is individually checked.
Parent Support Group -Thursday, 6th December at 9.30am
On Thursday, 6th December we will be holding our last parent support group of the year. Sue Clark, our school nurse, will be there as usual to offer confidential advice to parents and carers of children with diagnosed and undiagnosed additional needs, or anyone who is concerned about their child’s development in any way. We have also invited Kathryn Nightingale, additional needs family worker from the Children’s Centre. Kathryn can support children of school age and their families and she will be joining us to talk about her role in more detail.
If you would like to talk to Sue and meet Kathryn, we would be very pleased to see you. Younger children are welcome to.
Pampered Chef Evening – The Great Bar Hill Bake Off!
Thursday, 29th November at 7.30pm – See two teams battle it out to create the best recipe in this fun cooking show using The Pampered Chef’s innovative kitchen tools. Up to 15% of every purchase will go to the school.
Puzzle Day – Wednesday, 21st November
On Wednesday the Happy Puzzle Company is in all day to run a Puzzle Challenge Day. We are very grateful to the PTA for subsidising this event to allow us to only charge £1 per child towards the cost. Please can your child’s £1 be sent in on Monday morning in a named envelope. We would also like to encourage parents to come in after school to join your child in some of the activities your child has experienced. This session will run from 3.25pm to 4.55pm. You may want to bring a snack for your child as there will not be time to go home in between.
Cambridge News Generation Green Tokens
The Cambridge News in conjunction with British Gas are holding a competition for schools. Every day in the Cambridge News there will be a token to collect. The school to collect the most tokens will win £135,000 towards a green project for their school. Please can you get friends and family to collect tokens for us and bring your tokens into school.
Anti-Bullying Week and Wristbands
Finally, next week the school will be promoting Anti-Bullying Week in a variety of ways. This focus will start with an assembly on Monday morning highlighting the work of our school’s ABCer’s, who have been doing a great job so far this year. The ABCer’s will be sharing how playtimes are better when supported by children who have been trained in dealing with problems.
We will also be selling wristbands which say ‘Say No To Bullying!’ to encourage pupils to make the right choices. The ABCer’s will be bringing them around the classes during the week, priced £1.00.
