Return Of Clothes
If you child has had a change of clothes at school, please could you wash them and return them to school as soon as possible. With all the wet, muddy weather recently we are running out of spare clothes for the children.
Help
We would be delighted if anyone could come and help us with our Key Stage 2 lunchtime ICT club (one session per week). One of our governors has successfully run a club for the past few years but is unable to continue until September. It is a very enjoyable club to run and doesn’t require any preparation.
If you would like any further details, please contact me to discuss it.
Gardening Afternoon – Future Date For Your Diary
On Sunday afternoon, 1st March from 1.30pm to 3.30pm we will be having an afternoon to begin to get the school vegetable garden ready for spring planting.
If you could spare an hour or two to come and weed and dig over the plot, we would be most grateful of your help.
A letter will be going out nearer the time with more details and a return slip at the bottom so we can get an idea of numbers.
Parenting Course “1-2-3 Magic”
This Thursday, 5th February from 3.15pm to 4.45pm there will be the first of four sessions of the course on ‘Effective Discipline For Children’.
If you have still not signed up for this course, and would like to find out more details, please contact either Rachel Britton (our parent support adviser) on 07825-780-770 or speak to Emily in the office.
The course will be held in the community lounge. The crèche will be held in the reception class area.
Multi-Agency Coffee Morning
Another reminder that our next multi-agency coffee morning will be held this coming Friday, 6th February from 9.00am to 10.30am in the community lounge.
This was a great success last time with approximately 20 parents came and met with our school nurse, parent support adviser and our educational welfare officer. This time we will also be joined by the locality team manager who has access to many different services you as a parent may want to call upon. Younger siblings are very welcome. Refreshments served.
Best wishes

It’s that time of the term again when we are opening up the community lounge and inviting parents to come and meet those of us who work in schools and other services to support your children and you, their parents / carers.
At previous coffee mornings parents have been able to meet myself (the Parent Support Adviser) the Locality Manager (who can answer questions on the transfer to Swavsesey Village College), the Education Welfare Officer, the School Nurse, a representative from the Parent Partnership Service (to offer advice about Special Educational Needs), plus the head teacher and a variety of other people.
We hope that many of these professionals will be able to attend next week, and where they are not there we will be able to provide information on their behalf and signpost you to the appropriate services.
Even if you don’t need to talk to any of the people above, feel free to come along regardless and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee and a biscuit. There will also be toys available for younger children.
The event is taking place on Friday 6th February from 9am in the community lounge.
I hope to see you there!

Dear Parents/Carers
Happy New Year!
Welcome back to the start of our new term. Even though it seems a long time ago I hope you had an enjoyable break with your family. We now look forward to spring and longer days!
Absence Letters
If your child is going to be off school, please remember to phone in and leave a message either on the answer machine or with someone in the office for each day they are off.
Upon their return, please make sure your child has an absence note for the teacher which has the dates of the days they were off.
If you do not send in an absence note to the teacher it goes in as an unauthorised absence.

Noro Virus
As many of you would have heard in the news there is quite a virulent vomiting and diarrhoea bug sweeping the country.
We have spoken to the children about the importance of washing their hands before eating and after using the toilet and we have provided anti-bacterial liquid soap in the toilets instead of our normal bar soap. The children have responded very positively!
It is being recommended that if a child comes down with this virus they need to be off for 48 hours after the vomiting and diarrhoea has stopped (normally we say 24 hours).
Please can all parents make sure their children are off for the 48 hours in order to lessen the spread of this virus. Many thanks in advance for your cooperation.
