Dear Parents/Guardians
Eco-Schools Award
We are starting work towards gaining the Eco-Schools Award with the support and help of one of our parents, Mrs Lisa Taylor. This will be a very interesting and important project for our children covering all aspects of sustainability e.g. water, waste, energy, litter, transport, healthy eating, wildlife, school grounds and will have a global perspective. Each class will carry out an environmental review and the recommendations will be passed to the Eco Working Party who will produce a plan of action. Watch this space for further news of this exciting project!
Esperanto News
We recently held a 3 day meeting with representatives from our partner schools in Hungary and Germany with a view to gaining funding for future collaboration. We look forward to hearing a positive result in the near future.
Dear Parents/Guardians
Happy New Year!
Welcome back to the New Year and the start of the spring term. I hope you all had an enjoyable festive time with your families.
Noro Virus
As many of you would have heard in the news there is quite a virulent vomiting and diarrhoea bug sweeping the country.
Dear Parents
As part of your child’s Esperanto course, we would like your help with three things:
- On Friday of next week (18th January) we would like the children to bring a small gift of around 50p in value – a pencil, a rubber, a notepad, a postcard, some stickers, sweets, or similar – to send to children at partner schools in Germany and Hungary. (If it says “Cambridge” or “Great Britain” on it, so much the better!). We hope to receive something similar from the other schools too.
- Please fill in and return the permission slip below so that your child can appear in photos and videos, which we will share with the partner schools*.
- And finally, put the dates 24th to 27th August in your diary! We are organising a trip for up to 12 children, with one parent each, to visit the children at our partner school in Germany. The cost has yet to be finalised, but will probably be around £70 per person. This includes flight, train/coach transfer and accommodation. We would be staying with host families and spending a couple of days in the local school as well as fitting in some sightseeing! It is strictly on a first come first served basis but if you would like to register an interest now, please fill in the attached form and return it to the school office marked ‘Esperanto German Trip’. There will be a follow-up meeting later to give further details on the visit.
