Dear Parents/Guardians

11 Million Take Over Day!
This morning, my role as headteacher, was taken over by Hannah Walker, who became the headteacher of Bar Hill School for the morning.  Bethany McMillan became her deputy headteacher.  Eighteen of our Year 6 pupils participated in the bid to become a headteacher for the morning and also to win a IPod Nano!

The children all had to write 111 words on how they would improve the school if they were headteacher and I was very impressed with all their entries.  However, there could only be one headteacher and the judges from the Eastern Leadership Centre, plus two school governors, voted Hannah as the winner.

On Friday 23rd November 2007 we will be participating in the ‘11 million takeover event’ which is about children developing leadership skills.

This will involve Year 6 pupils (they have the choice to participate or not) to put themselves into the role of Headteacher and writing a report about ‘How I would improve the School if I was the Headteacher’! The report will be 111 words long and I will need to shortlist 10 pupils. They will then have the opportunity to ‘shadow’ me and amend their initial report!

Dear Parents/Guardians

Children In Need
Next Friday, 16th November we will be supporting the annual Children in Need event. Children and staff can come non-uniform for 50p and also during morning break we will be having a cake and biscuit stall. We would appreciate it if children and parents make cakes and biscuits to sell on the day. All items will be either 10p or 20p.

Reception 2008
Please can you ensure that you apply for a reception school place by the 7th December to the Admissions Team at Shire Hall. This should ensure admission for September 2008.
