Dear Parents/Guardians
School Garden
Again, many thanks to those who came out and helped make the gardening day so successful. As we have been very fortunate with the weather recently, we are looking for some volunteers to come and water our plants and vegetables! If you are able to spare a few minutes do call into the school office so that we can provide you with a watering can!
Sun Hats/Sun Cream
As you are aware we do not have a great deal of shade on the playground and as the warmer weather approaches, I would be grateful if you could ensure your child has a sunhat to wear outside. Also as we are unable to apply sun cream to the children, again I would appreciate if this could be done before your child comes to school.

Dear Parents/Guardians
Hammerhead
A number of you have expressed concern about the safety of our children whilst walking to and from the hammerhead outside the school. I have requested on a number of occasions that parents do not drop off their children or collect them from this point, but unfortunately, some parents are still unaware of the dangers this poses for children and that children’s safety is at risk.
This has been discussed with the governors at a recent meeting and they have requested your help and support in monitoring the hammerhead before and after school. If you think you can help, please contact me and I will put you in touch with one of our parent governors.
Sponsored Spell
Also, well done to all the children for all their hard work in learning their sponsored spell words. Cheques should be made payable to Bar Hill School.

Dear Parents/Guardians
Eco-Schools Award
We are starting work towards gaining the Eco-Schools Award with the support and help of one of our parents, Mrs Lisa Taylor. This will be a very interesting and important project for our children covering all aspects of sustainability e.g. water, waste, energy, litter, transport, healthy eating, wildlife, school grounds and will have a global perspective. Each class will carry out an environmental review and the recommendations will be passed to the Eco Working Party who will produce a plan of action. Watch this space for further news of this exciting project!
Esperanto News
