Dear Parents

Harvest Festival and Book Week
We had a very enjoyable harvest festival on Tuesday with or children, staff, senior citizens and grandparents. Thank you for all your generous harvest gifts.

Book week was also a great success especially with our young children who particularly enjoyed seeing the staff dressed up as story characters and wearing pyjamas! It was good to welcome back an ex member of staff-Amy Robinson who ran a story telling session for us in her new role as a professional story teller.

School Meals
Thank you again for returning the school meals questionnaires. We were delighted with the response. Almost 120 questionnaires were returned which is a 100% return from those children who have school meals.

Your comments and views have been carefully analysed and we will inform you of any changes in the near future resulting from the questionnaires.

In the meantime we thought we would have a ‘Favourites Week’ which will be a selection of all the children’s favourite main courses and deserts indicated on the questionnaires.

Please can you note that dinners must be paid for weekly or in advance. Money does not go to the school office but to the class teacher in a named envelope. Thank you for your co-operation.

Tesco Sports Vouchers
Many thanks to all the parents who have started collecting these vouchers for us. We are hoping to collect enough to add some larger pieces of PE equipment to our stock.

Please pass the vouchers on to either your child’s class teacher or post in the special collecting box in the school foyer.

Reminder - Photo
Photo money must be in on Monday. This is the closing date for orders.

Parent Consultations

  • Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 consultations will take place on Tuesday, 30th Oct and Wednesday, 7th Nov.
  • Year 3 and 4 consultations will take place on Wednesday, 31st Oct and Thursday, 8th Nov.
  • Year 5 and 6 consultations will take place on Thursday, 18th Oct and Tuesday, 6th Nov.

Your child will bring home a sign up sheet in a few weeks time.

Wanted -Help!
We are trying to establish a vegetable garden outside the kitchen area to grow our own vegetables such as potatoes, carrots, cabbages and lots more to use in our school meals! Kevin, our chef and Peter Stockton have already made a good start digging the earth over, but I am hoping that with more help it could be finished by November. If you are able to give an hour or so of your time, to do this please see either myself, Kevin or Jack or let the office staff know.

Operation Christmas Child
We will be supporting this worthwhile charity again this Christmas. Leaflets will go out before October half-term so start saving those shoe boxes!

Safety On The Playground
Several parents have informed me that there is the riding of two and three wheelers on the playground and children still playing on the equipment before and after school. For everyone’s safety, please can parents make sure their children do not play on the equipment or bring scooters or bikes onto school property (except Year 6 pupils).

Regards
