Individual and Family Photographs
Individual and family photos will be taken on Thursday, 27th September. Your child should be bringing home a lilac letter today with further information.
Harvest Festival
All grandparents and senior citizens are warmly invited to attend our Year 3, 4, 5 and 6 Harvest Celebration.
It will be held this Tuesday, 1st October at 2:15pm in the school hall. Tea and biscuits will be served in the studio afterwards.
At the junior assembly (2.15pm) and infant assembly (9.15am) we will be collecting food items for the Cambridge Food Bank. They distribute food that has been collected to: children’s hospices, elderly people, people with learning difficulties and disabilities, homeless shelters and women and children in refuge centres.
Types of food that can be effectively distributed include tinned and packet foods, sugar, tea, coffee, pasta, rice and cereals. Thank you for your support.
We would also be most appreciative of flowers on the day before or the morning of the festival, as we like to give each grandparent and senior citizen a post of flowers to take home with them.
Reminder
During the first three weeks of May children in all year groups [except reception and year 1] throughout England take assessment tests. Year 2 and 6 children are also taking their national SATs tests. Year 6s SAT week is 12th - 16th May.
Parent Mail
If you would like to receive letters and school information by email, please pass on your email address to the school office and we will add you to the list.
School Meals
Just a reminder that school dinners cost £1.85 per day or £9.25 per week. If paying by cheque this is made payable to Bar Hill Primary School.
You can pay for more than one child on the cheque. Please make it clear on the back of the cheque how much is for each child and which class they are in.
Dinners must be paid for weekly or in advance. Please pay dinner money on either Mondays (if you know what your child will be doing that week) or on Friday (if they have had one or two during the week). Money does not go to the school office, but to the class teacher or the red box outside the office in a named envelope.
Pop Quiz
Once again the very popular Pop Quiz is back! It is on Saturday 13th October. The Quiz starts at 7.30pm.
To enter a team (of up to 8 people) pick up a form from Emily in the school office. Entry is £7.00 per person which includes a meal. Kevin (the school’s chef) will be doing baked potatoes with a choice of seven or eight fillings. A bar is also available on the evening.
