Dear Parents/Guardians

Children In Need
Next Friday, 16th November we will be supporting the annual Children in Need event. Children and staff can come non-uniform for 50p and also during morning break we will be having a cake and biscuit stall. We would appreciate it if children and parents make cakes and biscuits to sell on the day. All items will be either 10p or 20p.

Reception 2008
Please can you ensure that you apply for a reception school place by the 7th December to the Admissions Team at Shire Hall. This should ensure admission for September 2008.

You should receive a copy from your child’s playgroup. If you have not received one, please contact the school office for a copy of the admissions booklet.

Cyber Bullying Meeting
This talk/discussion for parents will be led by Claire Higgins, the chair of our Anti-Bullying Council, as part of our work during National Anti-Bullying Week. It will be held on Wednesday, 21st November at 6:00pm in the Studio.

Cyber bullying is very topical at the moment and we would appreciate your views on this issue and how we can help to prevent it happening to our children.

Spanish Club
We still have a few places available at this club. It is an excellent opportunity for your child to start to learn about the language and the culture. The classes are fun and are taught by one of our parents who is a native Spanish speaker.

Please ring the office on 273305 if you would like your child to try the class this Wednesday straight after school.

Operation Christmas Child
As you know, we fully support this scheme and are delighted that so many children want to fill a Christmas box. We would appreciate boxes being sent in by this Monday, 12th November - otherwise Friday, 16th at the latest. Thank you again for your support.

Tesco Sports Vouchers
Many thanks to everyone for collecting these vouchers for us. We are hoping to collect enough to enhance our existing PE equipment. Please pass the vouchers on to either your child’s class teacher or post in the special collecting box in the school foyer.

Office Hours
Just a reminder that the office is open from 8.35am to 9.00am and 3.00pm to 3.25pm. Uniform and water bottles can now be bought on Mondays and Fridays (no longer Wednesdays).

It is preferred if dinner money is paid on Mondays. If you pay on Monday and your child does not use all the money paid, it is carried over until your child has another meal. Extra meals can be paid for on Fridays. Please pay weekly!

Christmas Concerts

  • Reception to be announced
  • Year 1/2 Wednesday, 12th December one concert at 6.30pm
  • Year 3/4 Monday, 10th December, two concerts at 2.00pm and 6.30pm
  • Year 5/6 Tuesday, 11th December, two concerts at 2.00pm and 6.30pm

Christmas Fayre
The school will be holding its annual Christmas Fayre on Friday, 14th December after school. This is a major fundraising event for the PTA and school and we hope you will support it.

We will be shortly sending out a letter asking for donations for bottle stall, tombola, etc.

Best wishes

Lin Whyte
