Please can you ensure that you apply for a reception school place by the 7th December to the Admissions Team at Shire Hall. This should ensure admission for September 2008.
You should receive a copy from your child’s playgroup. If you have not received one, please contact the school office for a copy of the admissions booklet.

Cyber Bullying Meeting
This talk/discussion for parents will be led by Claire Higgins, the chair of our Anti-Bullying Council, as part of our work during National Anti-Bullying Week. It will be held on Wednesday, 21st November at 6:00pm in the Studio.
Tesco Sports Vouchers
Many thanks to all the parents who have started collecting these vouchers for us. We are hoping to collect enough to enhance our existing PE equipment. Please pass the vouchers on to either your child’s class teacher or post in the special collecting box in the school foyer.
Operation Christmas Child
As you know we fully support this scheme and are delighted that so many children want to fill a Christmas box. Boxes need to be sent in by November 12th. Thank you again for your support.
Box Tops For Education
Do you eat Nestle cereals for breakfast? If so, we collect the Box Tops For Education off the top of the pack. Just cut them out and return to the school office. Many thanks.
Parent Support Adviser
Rachel Britton is the new Parent Support Adviser for our school and other schools in the local area.
Rachel’s main role is to encourage parents and their children to get the very best from school and to help and support parents with any major worries or concerns to do with parenting/ children issues. If you feel you would like support in this area, please come and see Mrs Whyte to organise a meeting with Rachel Britton.
For Sale From The Office
The office will be selling 2008 calendars depicting various scenes from Bar Hill (including the school). At £4.95 it would make a great Christmas present. There will be on for display outside the school office.
Poppy Week
This will be the week starting Monday, 5th November. As usual, the Year 6 children will go around the classrooms after lunch time so the children can buy a poppy. All donations are appreciated.
Duxford Imperial War Museum
On Sunday, 11th November Duxford will be holding an Armistice Day Service of Remembrance at 12.15pm. Pupils and their families are invited to attend to commemorate Armistice Day with them. There will be organised activities for children. Entry to the Museum is free on that day and opens at 10.00am
We look forward to seeing everyone back in school on Monday, 29th October.
Best wishes
Lin Whyte
