Dear Parents/Guardians

Ratatouille Restaurant
We celebrated the first birthday of the in-house school meals on Tuesday with a large number of children enjoying a delicious school meal and birthday cake! We featured in an excellent article in the Cambridge Evening News on Thursday.

Gardening Day
Many thanks to those who came out and helped make the gardening day so successful. The vegetable plot has now been dug over and the first of our beds have gone in. We even have some vegetables started!

Now that the vegetable garden is prepared it would be very useful for us to have a shed to store gardening equipment close to the plot. We would be very grateful if anyone has an unwanted shed that they could donate to the school for this purpose. Please contact the school office if you are able to help.

Reminder About Absences
If your child is off school, please remember to phone in and leave a message on the school answer phone. Upon their return, please give the teacher a handwritten note with the date your child was off. If a handwritten note is not received, we have to mark it as an unauthorised absence in the register.

Class Photos
Class Photos will be taking place on Thursday morning (1st May). Please could you make sure your child or children wear school colours?

Plant Orders
Just a reminder that if you are going to order any summer plants your order must be in by next Friday, 2nd May.

Paint The Playground Competition
The school council want to thank all the children who entered the ‘Paint The Playground’ competition.

The three winners are: Jack Lewin, Christian Marin, and Leah Moore.

Watch this space as we will be looking for parents and children to come in and help with the painting of their designs.

Teach the Teacher!

Children’s BBC is making a brand new Saturday morning TV show called Help! Teach Is Coming To Stay. This will be a unique game show where a teacher and one of their pupils have the chance of a life time to win their entire class a prize by swapping roles for a weekend!

The child will have to teach their teacher three subjects that they are passionate about; this could be mastering some heavy guitar riffs, pulling off a faultless trick on a skateboard or even learning a cheerleading routine!

Our very own Mr Herring has agreed to take part and pupils from Year 5 have been invited to apply. A casting team from the BBC will be in school on Monday, so look out for an update if we are selected for the series!

Tesco and Sainsbury Vouchers
Many thanks for all the vouchers we have been receiving. There is a running total outside the school office. Please continue to encourage friends and families to collect vouchers for us.

Yours sincerely

Lin Whyte
Headteacher
