Dear Parents/Guardians

Welcome back to the start of summer term.  I hope you all had an enjoyable Easter.

Gardening Day
We would like to encourage as many families as possible to come along to our spring gardening day next Saturday, 19th April.  The school will be open from 9.00am to 2.00pm and we would welcome help for as long or short a time as you can manage.

Things That Would Help On The Day!
A trailer to dispose of garden refuse, wheelbarrows (to move play bark and top soil) rakes, shovels, other garden implements.

As well as starting on the new vegetable garden we also need help putting play bark around the play equipment and general tidying of the grounds.

Kevin, our chef, will be providing hot drinks, cold drinks, cheese and ham rolls and ice lollies to keep us going!

Tesco and Sainsbury Vouchers
Many thanks for all the vouchers we have been receiving.  There is a running total outside the school office.  Please continue to encourage friends and families to collect vouchers for us.

Happy Birthday!
It doesn’t seem possible, but this month our ‘New School Meals Service’ (or better known to the children as Ratitouille Restaurant) is one year old!  We will be celebrating this with a Birthday  Party on Tuesday 22nd April.  We have invited the Cambridge Evening News and a handful of special guests from around the village.  Kevin will be baking a special celebration Birthday Cake!

More details, including the menu will be printed in the School Meals Newsletter next week.  We look forward to celebrating this special lunch with as many children as possible.

On a sad note
I am sure that most of you have heard about the tragic loss of Jelena Obradovic (Tamara’s mum).  Tamara is a Year 3 pupil in Miss White’s class. For those who knew Jelena, she was a fabulous mother and person and a brilliant scientist.  She was totally devoted to Tamara and the accident on the A14 has claimed the life of a wonderful woman.  She will be missed by everyone who knew her.

Yours sincerely

Lin Whyte
