Dear Parents/Guardians
Hammerhead
A number of you have expressed concern about the safety of our children whilst walking to and from the hammerhead outside the school. I have requested on a number of occasions that parents do not drop off their children or collect them from this point, but unfortunately, some parents are still unaware of the dangers this poses for children and that children’s safety is at risk.
This has been discussed with the governors at a recent meeting and they have requested your help and support in monitoring the hammerhead before and after school. If you think you can help, please contact me and I will put you in touch with one of our parent governors.
Sponsored Spell
Also, well done to all the children for all their hard work in learning their sponsored spell words. Cheques should be made payable to Bar Hill School.

Dates For 2008/2009
Along with this newsletter, your child should be bringing home a yellow piece of A5 paper with all the dates for next year (September 2008 to July 2009).
If they have not brought one home or you would like spare copies for a childminder or other family members that collects from school, spare copies are available outside the school office near the red posting box.
Cambridge Evening News – Mother’s Day Supplement
We recently participated in the Cambridge News Mother’s Day event where children from local schools were invited to produce pictures of their mothers for inclusion in a special edition. Unfortunately, some children were absent on the days the pictures were drawn and so did not produce any. My apologies to those parents who do not appear! The special issue comes out in this Saturdays Cambridge Evening News.
