Dear Parents/Guardians
Happy New Year!
Welcome back to the New Year and the start of the spring term. I hope you all had an enjoyable festive time with your families.
Noro Virus
As many of you would have heard in the news there is quite a virulent vomiting and diarrhoea bug sweeping the country.
We have spoken to the children about the importance of washing their hands before eating and after using the toilet and we have provided anti-bacterial liquid soap in the toilets instead of our normal bar soap. The children have responded very positively!
It is being recommended that if a child comes down with this virus they need to be off for 48 hours after the vomiting and diarrhoea has stopped (normally we say 24 hours). Please can all parents make sure their children are off for the 48 hours in order to lessen the spread of this virus. Many thanks in advance for your cooperation.

Parent Support Adviser
The role of our parent support adviser is to support you as parents and your child by providing support, advice and information. She is able to help you with any worries you may have in relation to your child’s education, behaviour or attendance, and provide support on how best to deal with it.
Our adviser, Rachel Britton, will be holding informal surgeries in the community lounge starting next Friday, 18th January from 8.45am to 10.30am these will take place every Friday until February half-term.
Absence Letters
If your child is going to be off school, please remember to phone in and leave a message either on the answer machine or with someone in the office for each day they are off. Upon their return, please make sure your child has an absence note for the teacher which has the dates of the days they were off. If you do not send in an absence note to the teacher it goes in as an unauthorised absence.
