The ‘ABC’ or Anti–bullying Council was set up in 1999. We aim to help children at Bar Hill school feel happier. We operate a ‘No Blame’ policy and try to ensure that everybody involved in any bullying incident is listened to. We have been so good at this that we help other schools set up their own Anti Bullying Councils. Also, we train teachers and headteachers to do this as well! In the past we have been reported about in national and local news but we have not let this go to our heads!
A very important aspect of our job is to support the teachers and mid day supervisors on the playground with any friendship issues. Our ABC Buddies are equipped with bags of games, paper and coloured pencils to help anyone who is upset. We also talk about our work in assemblies and to Inspectors!
Our ABC leader is Mrs Hackett (Reception teacher).
Our current members are:
- Erin Fox, Miki Oleniacz, Ren Carter, Eleanor Taylor, Jun McRobbie, Zainab Khan, Caltlin Runham, Issy Harvey, Nathan Rabel, Jade Henderson, Raeel Afaal , Amilia Gaisford, Evan Barratt, Harley Pell, Olivia Thorp and Nikola Pawlina.

Lunch Time Drop In
April 30th, 2013We now also have a drop in session one lunchtime a week for children who need extra time to sort out problems. This has been very effective. Children find it easier to continue to enjoy school life knowing that relationships, and how they make them feel, is taken seriously.
